Scheduling an Energy Assessment
The days are getting longer, the temperature is getting warmer and we’re all looking forward to having another heating season behind us. There are two things that begin to drop off this time of year – heating bills and requests for our in-home energy assessments. There’s no better time than right now to see if your home qualifies for one of these comprehensive evaluations. No waiting list means faster service.
With a call to 800-632-8300, you can talk to an energy efficiency consultant to learn more about energy assessments and find out if one is right for you. The assessment includes a top-to-bottom analysis of your home’s energy use with printed results, advice for saving energy and rebates on recommended improvements.

Once complete, you’ll be armed with the information you need to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient throughout the year.
Rebates for qualifying upgrades include up to $1,000 on a high efficiency, forced-hot-water boiler; up to $400 on a furnace; and $300 on a water heater. Rebates are available for ENERGY STAR-rated windows, too.
To help make it easier for customers to add the extra insulation recommended for their home, we’ll pay 50 percent of the installation cost up to $1,500. You may also be eligible for a no-interest loan to help make your home improvements more affordable. For loan details, visit MassSAVE’s Heat Loan web site.
For energy-saving tips, as well as more information about assessments, rebates and other programs, click on “Energy Efficiency” in the left-side menu above. In my next column, just in time to plan for this year’s cooling season, I’ll discuss the energy-saving benefits of ENERGY STAR-rated air conditioners.
