E-Bill provides our customers with a free, secure and user-friendly means of managing their NSTAR account over the Internet.
By registering with E-Bill, NSTAR customers will enjoy paperless billing and receive electronic bill notifications each month when their bill is ready to view. Customers can also make one-time payments, set up a recurring payment schedules, and view their bill history online via E-Bill.

What is E-Bill?
E-Bill is NSTAR's free electronic billing service.
How do I register with E-Bill?
Visit the E-Bill section of our web site to register.
Please have a copy of an NSTAR bill handy - you will need to
provide both your NSTAR account number and your service address
zip code to verify your account.
After your account is verified, you will need to fill out a one-time registration form, create a username and password, and answer three security questions. When revisiting E-Bill you will need to enter your username, password and potentially answer a randomly selected security question.
I have multiple accounts with NSTAR. Can I view and pay bills for all my accounts at once?
Yes.
You will have the ability to enroll all of your NSTAR accounts into one profile. This will enable you to quickly view bills for multiple accounts and
even pay them at the same time.
Can I make a one-time payment online?
Yes, you can pay online immediately or schedule a payment for a future date. You will need to submit a payment amount authorizing NSTAR to debit your checking or savings account.
Can I schedule monthly payments to automatically debit my checking or savings account?
Yes. You can set up a recurring payment schedule
and have your checking or savings account automatically debited each month.
When will my payment be debited from my account?
If your payment is made before 1 p.m. on a business day the amount of your payment will be debited from
the account you designated the same day. If the payment is made after 1 p.m., your account will be debited the next day. On Saturday, Sunday or a holiday, your payment will be processed the next business day.
Can I continue to receiving my paper bill?
Yes. You can continue receiving a paper bill
each month. However, you will not realize the true benefits of E-Bill's
enhanced security and environmental conservation.
Can I pay by credit card?
No.
Credit Cards are not accepted by E-Bill. If you
would like to pay your bill with a credit card, NSTAR has a
partnership with Western Union Speedpay. For more information,
or to make a payment, visit
Western Union's web site or call 800-566-2656. Please note there is a fee for this service, and automatic recurring payments are not available.
I'm enrolled in NSTAR’s Direct Pay program. Can I enroll in E-Bill?
Yes, however upon making your first payment via E-Bill
you will be un-enrolled from any other recurring payment
agreements you have with NSTAR - including Direct Pay.
I already pay online at my bank's web site or with CheckFree.
Can I enroll in E-Bill?
Yes - and switching to E-Bill is easy! Simply register with E-Bill and click on the "Receive and pay your bill using NSTAR's E-Bill"
option. NSTAR will take care of un-enrolling you from CheckFree
and canceling any bank payments you have scheduled. On our payment options page you may
then choose your banking preferences and set up an account with us.
Why do you need my email address?
Many E-Bill features require an email address. This includes
monthly email notifications when your NSTAR bill is available
for viewing and email notifications if an online payment is
returned by your bank. Other related notifications will also be
sent to your email address.
What kind of computer equipment and software do I need for E-Bill?
E-Bill will run on any standard internet browser, however you will need Adobe
Reader 9 of higher to view your bill. You can

the latest version of this program for free from Adobe.
Is E-Bill secure?
What security measures does E-Bill use?
E-Bill uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to secure and encrypt the communication between
your browser and E-Bill. All bank account information is also
stored in an encrypted format.
