Energy Savings Calculators
Ever wonder how much you can save by installing a new,
energy efficient appliance? NSTAR's
Energy Savings Calculators
allow you to focus on the energy use of a
specific appliance in your home and gives you information on how to
operate them more efficiently. Information is also available about
the savings you could incur by installing a new energy efficient
appliance. There are calculators available for your refrigerator,
washer, dryer, water heater, heating or cooling system, thermostat
and room air conditioner.
ENERGYsmart Library
The
ENERGYsmart Library
is a vast online resource that will help you learn more
about the energy used in your home. From electric heating to solar
water heating, the library includes information on a number of
different energy issues and technologies, and also includes a
glossary of common energy terms.
High-Efficiency Heating Equipment Rebate Program
When you install a high efficiency gas furnace or gas boiler in your home, NSTAR Gas
will mail you a rebate check as follows:
- $100 for furnaces greater than or equal to 92% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) without an electronic commutated motor (ECM) or equivalent advanced furnace fan system.
- $500 for forced hot water boilers greater than or equal to 85% AFUE.
- $200 for steam boilers greater than or equal to 82% AFUE.
- $400 for warm air furnaces with an AFUE rating of at least 92% and equipped with an electronic commutated motor (ECM) or equivalent advanced furnace fan system.
- $1,000 for forced hot water heater boilers with an AFUE rating of 90% or greater.

High-Efficiency Indirect and
On-Demand Water Heater
Rebate Program
NSTAR now offers a $300 rebate on high-efficiency
indirect-fired water heaters that are connected to a natural gas
fired heating system and on-demand water heaters with an Energy
Factor of .82 or higher with an electronic ignition. For rebate
applications or more information call 800-232-0672 or visit the
GasNetworks
web site for a rebate application.
Programmable Clock Thermostat Rebate
Maximize your energy savings without sacrificing comfort by
installing an ENERGY STAR programmable clock thermostat. You can
save up to 15 percent a year on your heating bill and receive up to
$25 with NSTAR's programmable clock thermostat rebate(s). Rebates
are valid for the purchase of up to two ENERGY STAR labeled
programmable thermostats. For more information and a rebate

ENERGY STAR Homes: New Construction Program
Building a new home? Consider building an ENERGY STAR home.
These homes are certified to
be up to 30 percent more efficient than other homes and NSTAR provides financial
assistance and expertise for builders to construct new homes to ENERGY STAR
specifications.

MassSAVE
Energy efficiency specialists will answer your energy-saving questions and determine your eligibility for a Home Energy Assessment. The assessment includes an analysis of your home's energy use, advice for saving energy and rebate offers on recommended energy improvements. Up to $1,000 in rebates for qualifying high efficiency heating systems and a $300 rebate available on indirect and qualifying on-demand hot water heaters.
Additionally, 50 percent off up to $1,500 toward insulation upgrades and air sealing are available. Currently 0 percent financing is available for qualified customers from the HEAT Loan program so please call 800-654-5833 or visit www.masssave.com for more information.
Weatherization Rebate
Thinking about adding wall insulation, attic insulation or air
sealing to your home? If so, you might be eligible for rebates up to
$2,000 from NSTAR for such home upgrades. Call 800-266-3517 for more
information.
Energy Efficiency Program for Lower Income Customers
If you currently receive NSTAR's Discount Rate, you may be
eligible for a free home energy consultation, which may include the
installation of conservation measures and refrigerator metering.
Your rate code and usage information appears on your NSTAR bill. If
you qualify and would like more information, please contact your
local Community Action or Heating Assistance Program. Information

ENERGY STAR Replacement Window Program
NSTAR can help you save money and increase the comfort of your
home with our new ENERGY STAR replacement window rebate program.
These ENERGY S TAR windows can lower your annual heating costs by up
to 15 percent. NSTAR gas heating customers are also eligible for a
$10 rebate on every window replaced with an ENERGY STAR-labeled
