How do I register with E-Bill?
Visit our E-Bill section to register. You will need to have a current NSTAR paper bill handy upon initial registration. You will be required to enter two pieces of information taken from your NSTAR bill in order to verify your account:

  • NSTAR account number
  • "Service provided to" name on your bill
Upon initial registration, you will need to fill out a one-time online registration form and create a username and password. You will not need to register again when you return to E-Bill. When you revisit E-Bill after registration, you will only need to enter your username and password.

I have multiple accounts with NSTAR. Can I view and pay bills for all my accounts at once?
You will have the ability to "link" all of you NSTAR accounts into one profile.  This will enable you to quickly view bills for multiple accounts and pay monthly bills for all accounts.

Once you have registered one account with E-Bill, select the "Linked Accounts" option from My Profile and click on the "Link a New Account" link.  You will need the account number(s) and account name(s) handy to link multiple accounts together.

Can I make a one-time payment online?
Yes, if you chose the "Pay Now" payment option, you will need to submit a payment amount authorizing NSTAR to debit your checking or savings account.

Can I schedule monthly payments to automatically debit my checking or savings account?
Yes, if you choose to set up a recurring payment schedule, your checking or savings account will be automatically debited each month.

When will my payment be debited from my checking or savings account?
If your payment is made before 2 p.m. on a business day the amount of your payment will be debited from your checking or savings account the same day. If the payment is made after 2 p.m., your account will be debited the next day. On Saturday, Sunday or a holiday, a payment made before 2:30 p.m. will be debited from your checking or savings account the same day. After 2:30 p.m. your account will be debited the next day.

If you have established a recurring payment schedule, your bank account will be debited 8 business days from the date your bill was rendered. Please note, a recurring schedule must be set up before a new bill is rendered. If you wish to pay a current balance, please use the Pay Now option and then set up a recurring schedule for future transactions.

What if I want to continue receiving my paper bill?
If your paper bill has been turned off and you would like to start receiving paper bills again, simply log into E-Bill, select the "Linked Accounts" link from the left-hand navigation menu, click "edit" and change the paperless setting.

Why do you need my checking or savings account information?
Your checking or savings account is required to make online payments through E-Bill. Once registered, you may choose to either "Pay Now" or create a "Recurring Schedule" within E-Bill.

For your convenience, your bank account information will be stored until you delete it from your profile. E-Bill stores bank account numbers in an encrypted format to keep your bank information secure.
